To produce President Biden, FRONTLINE drew on 30 interviews conducted with colleagues, friends, family members and journalists who have covered Joe Biden over his long career. Most of these interviews took place as part of reporting for The Choice 2020, which examined the biographies of Biden and Donald Trump (and explains why some of the interview subjects are also asked about President Trump). We have updated several interviews since the election. This archive is part of FRONTLINE’s Transparency Project, which makes available to the public full-length interviews used in our journalism.
